The first high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes are set to open this weekend in Kelowna. There is one lane dedicated northbound and one southbound. The lanes extend from the Highway 33/Highway 97 intersection right up to the new Bennett Bridge. With tourist season nearly over it will be difficult to know the true impact this highway project will have in the short term. Likely, locals and commercial vehicles will be happy with the traffic flow.
